Gay couple from Tennessee Cry Tears of Joy

Hands down, this was my absolute favorite part of Lisa and Carson's wedding weekend. I was humbled getting to join them as they made their marriage legal at the courthouse in Brooklyn, NY. They had the most magical wedding the next day, check out how beautiful the day was here. At the time these photos were taken, just a few short weeks ago, they had to return to their home state of Tennessee and be deprived of all the privileges that come with being legally married. Today, their wildest dreams have come true and the Supreme Court of the United States has ruled gay marriage legal in all 50 states. Although we still have quite a lot to work on regarding equality in all manors, the country has showed that progress is not only possible but inevitable if change is demanded.

Two Tennessee Brides' Dreams Come True!

Grab your tissue box, because I was choking back the tears at least 5 times the weekend I shot this wedding! Lisa and Carson first emailed us from Tennessee about a year ago wanting us to photograph their marriage, but they were going to have to travel to another state to make it legal. Today, their dreams have come true and the Supreme Court of the United States just ruled gay marriages legal in all 50 states!!!!! The best possible outcome for the sweetest southern belles and millions of others across the country. Join them as they do each others makeup, slip on each other's dresses, and roam around Brooklyn in the cutest vintage taxi. This wedding was the perfect recipe for dreams come true, with the NYC skyline as the backdrop to their magical Jane's Carousel venue.

Carson's mother made her veil, and the garter and handkerchief were passed down.

Who can resist a good old Polaroid, shake it like a salt shaker!

This cup has been in Carson's family for many generations and is passed onto each family member as they get married. The cup is etched with their names and marriage year, and will live in Lisa and Carson's house until the next sibling or cousin get's married.

They even shared their wedding celebration with two close friends for their birthdays, singing to them and cutting two extra custom cakes!! The cake was out of this world and made by  Momofuku Milk Bar.
